  • Big And Tall Dress Shirts: Get The Right Proportion

How many dress shirts does a man need? part 4

    Basic dress shirts, number 2:

If you want to invest in cufflinks, I would suggest you get one pair in gold and one pair in silver in a very traditional style without any diamonds or colored stones. Personally, I would choose a monkey fist knot cufflink because they are versatile, they are classic, and it is something you could wear with any kind of outfit.

How many dress shirts does a man need? part 3

Should you take your dress shirts to dry cleaning?:

It would be easier to take them to dry cleaner but if you have very good quality dress shirts and at a dry cleaner, they usually wash shirts not as gently and carefully as it can be done at home. Also, they are usually not completely hand ironed but machine ironed and all of those things help to wear down your shirt prematurely.

How many dress shirts does a man need? part 2

Dress shirts are an investment, number 2:

If you take care of your shirts properly, they should last you a long time. If you have shirts made for you, it may be a good idea to invest in separate collars and cuffs because that is what usually wears out the first and so you can just exchange that and still enjoy that shirt. Now, some of the old shirts I have are just starting to fray around the edges on the collar and the cuffs and since I do not have any excess fabric, I could turn them into Winchester shirts meaning I use contrasting white collars and cuffs, that way, I could still enjoy wearing the overall shirt without having to just buy an entirely new shirt.

How many dress shirts does a man need? part 1

Dress shirts should be the backbone of your wardrobe:

I hardly ever wear undershirts and so it is always something that protects my jackets and my outer garments from my body fluids. With the exception of going to the gym or maybe mowing the lawn, I usually wear dress shirts or maybe a polo shirt when it is really hot and I am in a very casual setting. So for me, a dress shirt is truly an everyday piece of my attire.

Business casual shoes guide part 5

Do not invest in shoes that fuse modern and traditional style:

Matching together formal and informal elements will mean it is a very trendy shoe and it may be great at the moment but it is just a fashion and a fad and it will disappear in just a few years of time. So even if you have the highest quality leather shoe with a blue sole, chances are you will be tired of it in a year from now. Instead, buy classically styled shoes and try to find something that works with your style. For example, you can go with medium brown penny loafers or you could go with cordovan tassel loafers. Alternatively, if you want even more casual, you can have suede green tassel loafers which are very casual yet still classically rooted. Because it is business casual, broguing or hole perforations or decorations are always welcome and an element you should incorporate if you want to tone things down and make them easier to look at and less formal.

    Dress shoe trends, number 3:

If it rains heavily you can buy leather boots with rubber soles because they are usually a little more casual and if it is raining a lot, having a lace-up boot that is above the ankle always comes in handy to protect feet from getting wet and cold.

Business casual shoes, you can go for green ones:

Alternatively, a nice olive green with a beautiful patina on an elegant long last is really something that will provide a lot of contrast with the pants and slacks you are wearing therefore, it will stand out in a way but it is still subtle enough that it could be mistaken for a dark brown shoe at first glance.

Business casual shoes, number 3: monk strap shoes

Likewise, the more broguing you have on the shoe, the more casual it is. Apart from the color, leather texture can also have a huge impact on how it is perceived. For example, suede shoes are always softer and more casual. So for example, a dark brown suede shoe will look about as informal or casual as a regular polished leather tan shoe. Overall, it is very important that your shoes work well not just with the rest of your outfit but with the socks and the pants in particular because they are right next to your shoe.

Business casual shoes: traditional white-collar environments

Because you are in this traditional environment, chances are even business casual is more formal than in other places. Now that does not mean that you should wear your black cap toe oxford because that would still be too formal and while it is good with suits for business casual, you can be a bit more daring. In summary, the dress-code business casual is not easy to master when it comes to shoes because it can mean different things at different times at different companies.
