When In Doubt, Go Bohemian

When In Doubt, Go Bohemian

When In Doubt, Go Bohemian

If wearing the same kind of clothes day after day has made your life black and white, we have just the right thing for you. Bohemian dressing is what you need in your life. Bohemian fashion is inspired from freedom of expression and thought. In fact, the term “Bohemian” is used for a person who lives an unconventional and artistic life. For many years, bohemian style has been used as an alternative to the mainstream fashions of a given period. In bohemian fashion, new and old clothing styles are mixed together to make something entirely unique and exciting.

Bohemian style emerged in the 1700s, after the French Revolution, in France when minimalistic lifestyle became a necessity. The look inspired many people to reject the concept of materialism. At that time, this style was adopted by nomads and artists, and it has grown in popularity ever since.

There are no rules when it comes to bohemian fashion, but most people choose to go with colorful clothes. In addition to that, bohemian style usually consists of lots of patterns. To make it look even more exhilarating, accessories such as bracelets, rings, earrings, hats, headbands, pendants, necklaces, handmade jewelry and sunglasses are used. Using accessories is an effective way to stand out from the crowd and also to feel comfortable as you are expressing yourself.

As you may have seen celebrities like Johnny Depp and Jason Momoa at award ceremonies rocking colorful and patterned suits, bohemian style is also becoming famous in formal clothing gradually.

If you want to blend in the crowd while still looking noticeable, take some notes from Jason Momoa. Here, we can see he went for a brown colored suit. Brown is the staple color of bohemian fashion. If you want to keep it simple, choose brown. The use of black beaded accessories and the neck piece only complements the brown suit. We can see Momoa has completed his formal bohemian look with his favorite style of shoes. Also, don’t be afraid if your hair is a bit messy.

Bohemian themed formal dressing is pretty hard to slay, and there are a few things you might want to follow. First of all, with a printed and patterned coat like this, you wouldn't want to go over the board by wearing a printed button down shirt or t-shirt under it. If you are wearing something like this for the first time, try and keep it simple!

Wearing a floral printed coat with white button down shirt and a burgundy tie would give you a chic look and would make you stand out, definitely. And if you have hair and a beard like this, you are already rocking it.

And if you are an employee who works 9 to 5 daily, we understand your exhaustion, and there is nothing as effective as changing a bit of your style to make it to the end of the week. We suggest this as the Wednesday look (middle of the week, we can relate).

With a plain white shirt with triple layering and khaki pants, this look is a bit rough. Waistcoat is not what many may choose, but that's the difference you are going to make.

Bohemian is a versatile style of dressing and goes well with many other styles though, we do not see much of it right now, especially in formals, but with the increase in celebrities sporting these looks we can see a rise in the bohemian fashion and we cannot wait!
